Writer's picture: Allenah TeresoAllenah Tereso

Created in Caldas da Rainha, a charming town in the heart of the Silver Coast of Portugal, this traditional Portuguese ceramic style is a favourite!

Created in the beginning of the 19th century, Bordallo Pinheiro ceramics, also known as “louça das Caldas”, is very popular in Portugal and also amongst foreigners who are looking to bring a bit of Portuguese style into their homes.

Famous for its vegetable designs, as well as traditional motifs inspired by Portuguese culture and traditions, you can find this beautiful ceramic style in all major kitchenware shops in Portugal as well as online. Available in several bright colours, sizes and designs, it’s relatively easy to find decoration or crockery items that will fit into any decoration style.

From simple coffee cups to large ceramic figures that catch the eye, Bordallo Pinheiro ceramics are a great way to bring a little bit of Portugal into your home!
